Nicole Svatek

Nicole is one of the world’s leading Human Error Risk specialists. She was formerly the Head of Human Factors at Virgin Atlantic Airways.

Nicole’s remit included flight crew, cabin crew and engineering Human Factors programmes and all internal HF accident and incident investigations. Nicole was one of the original members of the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Human Factors Committee. Nicole was seconded as their representative to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (the aviation branch of the UN) to become a member of the working group that authored the ICAO Human Factors Digests. She was also one of three authors of the IATA Guidelines in flight Safety Methodologies in 1991.

Nicole now utilises her vast experience of managing human error risk in aviation to educate financial services professionals and to assist in the conduct of inspections and reviews to identify human factor weaknesses and the human factor causal factors of breaches.
